Organised by the Haryana Tourism Department, Surajkund Mela is hosted annually in a place called “Surajkund” which is located in the state Faridabad. Surajkund Mela provides a platform for local craftsman and also craftsman from around the globe to showcase their talent.
Many creative artists from India and throughout the world come out and show off their handlooms, handicrafts, and traditional handcraft products from their home states. The main motive behind this mela or fair is to promote the talent of the local artisan of each and every state of India and in a way boost the rural craftsmanship. More than 20 countries from Europe, South Asia, Africa actively participates in this fair and show case their talent and culture. Various kinds of merchandises and items are displayed in this fair and can be bought in this fair. Surajkund Mela is known to be the largest international crafts mela.

Surajkund Mela 2022 Date & timings:
The colourful Surajkund Mela is organised in a place named Surajkund which is in the state of Faridabad. This year Surajkund Mela was organised in the month of February.
Surajkund Mela 2022 will be organised from 4rth February 2022 to 25th February 2022. The timings of the fair were from 10:20am to 8:30pm.

The Surajkund Mela is Organised by the Haryana Government on a very large scale. Hundreds of craftsman from around the country and also from abroad gather in the Surajkund Mela and so it is the governments responsibility to make sure that all the needs of the craftsman are taken care off. This is why entry to the Surajkund Mela is not free.
The Surajkund Mela 2022 ticket price is Rs. 120 per person on weekdays and Rs. 180 per person on weekends. However the government provides a 50% rebate to differently abled persona, Senior Citizens etc on entry tickets.

Surajkund Mela Theme
The theme of the Surajkund mela is different every year. Every year a new theme is decided by the organizing committee which is based on a particular state of India. This year, i.e. in 2022 the theme of the fair will be based on the state of “ Jammu & Kashmir “and given the chance to represent their culture, activities, handicrafts, traditions, heritage through the theme.
There is a variety of legacy and culture from Jammu & Kashmir to enchant the audience, ranging from traditional dances to exquisite crafts.

How to Reach the Surajkund Mela?
The Surajkund Crafts Mela is organised in a place named Surajkund which is in the state of Faridabad (Haryana). It is organised in the Surajkund Tourist complex of Haryana Tourism. This tourist complex is about 8 km from South Delhi & about 24 km from Indira Gandhi International Airport. You can reach there by road, train, metro or as per your convenience.ie, Car/Bike. You can also take the taxi to reach the destination.
Everyone can easily reach to this place as Faridabad city is well connected with Noida, Delhi & Guru gram as well.
In order to make sure that the visitors of the Surajkund Mela enjoy a pleasant time, the organising committee of the Surajkund Mela have offered various facilities to the public. The facilities are:
1.The Surajkund Complex has enough parking spaces for all kind of vehicles. The parking is also guarded by security personal so that you don’t need to worry about your vehicle and have a pleasant time in the Mela. The organising committee also helps you while making your way out of the parking lot by giving you directions to avoid the causing of any traffic jams in the premises.
2. Walk Friendly ramps are available for visitors so that they can walk easily and comfortable exploring the mela. Rikshaws and Golf Carts are also available in the premises so that you can comfortably explore all the stalls in the fair.
3. Separate toilets are available for Men, Women and Physically disabled people.
4. RO Drinking water facilities are also present in the premises to provide safe and pure water for the visitors.
Cultural Programmes & Performances:
Apart from the cuisine and the handmade products, you can also get the taste of the cultural and folk programmes of the different states of India. In the Surajkund Mela cultural groups present their performances in the open space provided in the mela premises. Singers, musicians and dancers are present in the premises of the mela everyday to entertain their audience.

The main objective of the government for organizing the Surajkund Mela is to promote the local artisans and the handmade items made by them. This is particularly the effort of the authorities that they have provided this kind of platform to all those skilled artisans to showcase their ability & performance, display their exquisite hand looms before the audience. Each & every product designed by these skilled workers is absolutely a masterpiece. Through this world class fair their unique talent is being displayed. The Mela ground is spread over 40 acres area & about more than 1000 huts are hosted there.
Surajkund Mela is particularly a great effort of Haryana Tourism department to bring together all skilled artisans from all the world on a single platform to showcase their talent & expertise. It’s not the kind of event which can be missed as it is an engagement of art, craft, music, dance and much more.
